About Birdsong Academy founder Charlie Peverett

Charlie is a long-time naturalist, bird surveyor and bird guide who has helped hundreds of people to identify birds by sound over the last thirty years.

During the lockdown in spring 2020 Charlie created Up With The Birds, a ‘crowdsourced dawn chorus’ via Zoom that connected people all over the UK to listen, share and learn about the birdsong near them.

Charlie is co-founder of the Sussex-based research and content consultancy Wilsome, and has previously led communications for the charity Rewilding Britain.
